The bathroom is the top fall zone after stroke. During a remodel, you lose familiar walls, thresholds, and sometimes the only indoor shower. Plan three phases: before demo, during work, and after tile when bars go in for real.

Before demo, your OT should mark stud photos for blocking. Order a temporary outdoor or bedside rinse setup if the indoor shower will be offline for more than a few days.

During the remodel, assume fatigue and worse balance. Non-slip shoes in work zones, a clear path free of cords, and a medical alert if you are alone for stretches of the day.
