New construction is the cheapest time to get accessibility right. Decide which bathrooms and entries must work with a walker or wheelchair even if you are walking today.
Before framing closes, plan 32–36 inch clear widths, shower blocking for future grab bars, and reachable switches around 42–48 inches.
